PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTER AT SHIVALIK NAGAR HARIDWAR
Concept and Need-: With the growing population of senior citizen in and around Shivalik Nagar it was felt by Senior citizen forum Haridwar, that a health care center be developed focusing on sr.citizen problem. A well-equipped physiotherapy center was the unanimous choice .
Development plan-: Immediately guide lines and detail plan were framed under the direction of our president Sh Sarvesh Gupta. The three basic needs were 1)Land procurement 2) Construction of Building with hall size— and its interior 3)Procurement of Equipment’s and six number of beds 4)Engaging Qualified physiotherapist . Land was donated by community centre Ph.3 Shivalik Nagarwith the kind efforts of Sh. R.C.Sharma and Sh.Diwan Singh An estimate budget was prepared for the interior and equipments to be procured. For the construction of hall on the available land besides community center we are thankful to Sh.M.K.Mittal Director Retd.BHEL for getting our proposal approved from ED BHEL Haridwar under their CSR plan..
Funds arrangement-: Our esteemed members were very enthusiastic and we could get the required amount through donation. Amongst major donors were Sh.S.C.Goel,Sh.K.B.Mehta and Dr.Zutshi from Pune
Regular physiotherapist-: It was felt that a lady qualified and experienced physiotherapist be engaged so that a more sincere approach in dealing with patient is achieved and also convenience to lady patients. Two lady doctors and one attendant are deputed.
Management control-: In order to maintain discipline and punctuality and attending general problems of our senior citizens it was necessary that our executive member must be present full time during working hours -9am to 1pm & 4.30pm to7.30pm(-except Sunday)in PTC. A duty roaster is in place for the same. A nominal fee Rs 100 is charged from patients to meet the running expenditure partially
Success story-: On10th June2015 the well equipped Physiotherapy center was inaugurated bySh,Prakash Chand the E.D. BHEL Haridwar ,our patron and Director (Retd.) BHEL Sh. M.K.Mittal and Sh.Sarvesh Gupta . Till date about 1639 numbers of patients have been successfully treated at the center.
